Portadown are back in Bluefin Sport Championship action this Saturday (19 October 19) when we welcome Dergview to Shamrock Park (Kick Off 3pm).

Portadown are coming off the back of their first league defeat in nine and will be without Chris Crane who serves the final game of his three match suspension following his red card against the PSNI while Chris Lavery remains side lined until November at the earliest with a grade 2 medial ligament tear. Ports midfielder Marty Bradley who was substituted against H&W Welders will continue to be monitored by the club’s medical team as he continues to build up his match fitness following a lengthy spell on the sidelines earlier in the season.

Dergview have had a poor start to this seasons Bluefin Sport Championship with only four victories in their opening twelve league games however three of those four victories have come in the games against the front runners for promotion in the form of Ballinamallard United, Ards and Newry City AFC. The ‘Derg have also only picked up four points from a possible 18 ‘on the road’ so the Ports will be hoping their away day woes continue on Saturday.

Last time out in the Bluefin Sport Championship Dergview were on the end of a 2-1 defeat against Loughgall at Darragh Park.

Portadown have won five of the last six between the two sides and have scored seventeen times against Dergview in those six meetings with the last meeting between the two sides coming earlier this season when the Ports run out 2-1 winners at Darragh Park back in September through goals from Luke Wislon & Lee Bonis.

The last time the two teams met at Shamrock Park was back in September 2018 when two Darren Murray goals, including a last minute speculative overhead kick, sealed the points for Matthew Tipton’s men.
