With the teams braving the elements of Storm Dennis in yesterdays 7-1 win over Queens University in the Championship, the conditions played a part in a moment that can only be described as the definition of #IrishLeagueBehaviour yesterday for the Ports’ second goal of the game.
Adam Salley bursts through the middle of the park following a header on from captain Luke Wilson and calmly slots past the Queens keeper into the goal.. Or so he thought!
As Salley wheeled away in celebration the ball slows and sticks in the goal mouth forcing winger Chris Lavery to react quickest and stick the ball in the back of the net.
However it wasn’t all bad news for Salley who went on to grab a second half hat-trick and bag the Man of the Match award!
