Portadown Football Club is delighted to confirm that Chris Lavery and Chris Crane have both signed new two year contracts at the club which will see them remain at Shamrock Park until 2022.

29 year old Lavery extends his stay at Shamrock Park after arriving in the summer of 2017 from Glentoran following previous spells at Lurgan Celtic, Dungannon Swifts and Glenavon. Chris has made 83 apperances and scored 26 goals to date for the Ports since his debut against Larne in August 2017 and picked up the Championship Player of the Month in March 2018. He also picked up the club’s Players Player of the Year and a clean sweep of Supporters Club’s Player of the Year awards in 2017/18.

Chris Crane signs a new two year deal after arriving in the summer of 2019 from Ballyclare Comrades following spells at both Cliftonville and Linfield. A U19 Northern Ireland international the 21 year old has made the left back slot his own at Portadown and made 27 appearances for the club in his debut season.

Another statement from Matthew Tipton on yet more extensions for the Shamrock Park players:

Cricky is a young man who probably flew under the radar for most of last season but his value was massively appreciated in the dressing room & certainly amongst the staff. The best compliment I can pay him is that I can only remember him having one bad game all season. Add to that the fact he supplied many assists I believe he’s going to be a valuable asset to us.

Chris Lavery has the ability on his day to be our match winner single handedly & for me there is no better sight than one of Chris flying past the full back & putting crosses into the box & it’s a sight I want to see more of next season & beyond.
