Portadown Football Club is delighted to confirm that Greg Hall has signed a new one year contract with the club which will see him stay at Shamrock Park to at least 2021.
Greg, 30 from Ballynahinch, arrived at the club in December 2017 from Ards following spells at Loughgall, Lisburn Distillery and Ballynahinch Utd and quickly earned himself the reputation as Mr Reliable in the right back slot winning the Players Player of the Year Award and Richhill Reds Player of the Year award in 2018/19. A big fan favourite at Shamrock Park Greg picked up a injury against Ballyclare Comrades in November which seen him miss the remainder of the 2019/20 season however he should be fit and raring to go for the new season which will be a massive boost to the club and manager Matthew Tipton.
Here is the manager’s reaction to Greg’s new contract:
Greg Hall for me is a model professional who has always given his all for the club. Even though he was injured for a chunk of last season I could see how hard he was working to get back fit for the run in & I’m delighted to have him on board for next season.
Also committing to the club for a further year is 17 year old Callum McVeigh who arrived at Shamrock Park in January 2020 from Linfield. A Northern Ireland U18 Schoolboy international Callum is highly rated by the coaching staff at the club and will be looking to make an impact in the Premiership this coming season.
This is what Matthew Tipton had to say on Callum extending his stay at the club
Callum McVeigh only arrived in January but showed more than enough during his brief displays in first team action added to what he showed us during the week that we now believe he will be an integral part of our squad going forward. Callum is a perfect example of what we are trying to do at the club in not only producing our own players all the way through but also looking about the rest of the country for rough diamonds that we feel we can push on to the next level quickly.
Also returning to the club following a loan spell at Premier Intermediate club Dollingstown is striker Aaron Duke. Duke, 24, joined Portadown in January 2019 from Mid Ulster intermediate side Rectory Rangers after spells at Linfield, Dundee United and Annagh United and contributed 5 goals and 4 assists in 15 appearances for the club in 2019/20 before joining Dollingstown.
