Congratulations to Portadown forward Oisin Conaty who has been named in a 22-strong squad for a five-day training camp with Northern Ireland U19s in Belfast next week.
With the U19 Euros scheduled for Romania this summer cancelled by UEFA, and three qualifiers for Northern Ireland due to take place this month in Sweden also falling by the wayside due to the current pandemic Northern Ireland U19 manager Gerard Lyttle has organised a training camp as the first phase of preparations for U19 Euro 2022 qualifiers in October.
Oisin is the only player named in the panel who plays for a Premiership club in Northern Ireland with the rest of the panel made up of players from clubs in England and Scotland, a great achievement for Oisin and the club.
This autumn the U19s will play Czech Republic, Denmark and Kazakhstan (Group 13) in a four-team mini tournament in the qualifying round for the U19 Euros in Slovakia in the summer of 2022. Those games will be played from 6 to 12 October in the Czech Republic.
