Portadown are back in Danske Bank Premiership action this evening (Tues 20 April) when we face Larne at Shamrock Park, kick off 7:45pm.
Larne come into the game off the back of a 5-0 victory over Warrenpoint Town at Inver Park on Saturday while Portadown were beaten 2-1 by Cliftonville at Shamrock Park.
The last time the two teams met was earlier this month (6 April) when Larne ran out 2-1 winners at Shamrock Park thanks to a Andrew Mitchell penalty and a goal of the season contender from Ronan Hale, Lee Bonis was on target for the Ports.
Portadown’s last victory over Larne came in our opening Championship game of the 2017/18 season when we won 3-0 at Taylors Avenue thanks to goals from Niall Henderson, Matty Hazley and Kyle McVey, Larne were ground sharing with Carrick Rangers at the time due to ongoing works at Inver Park. Portadown’s last win at Shamrock Park over Larne was Boxing Day 2008 when the Ports ran out 5-0 winners in a IFA Championship fixture.
Ports loanee Ben Tilney will be unavailable for the Ports as he isn’t allowed to play against his parent club in Larne.
