Portadown are back on their travels tomorrow as we make the trip to Milltown to take on Warrenpoint Town in the Danske Bank Premiership, kick off 3pm.

Warrenpoint Town come into the game without a win in their last twelve Danske Bank Premiership games and off the back of a 4-3 defeat to Glenavon at Milltown on Tuesday evening while Portadown have three wins in their last four games including a 2-1 success over Larne at Shamrock Park in their last Premiership outing.

The last time the two clubs met was back in January with Warrenpoint Town winning 2-0 at Shamrock Park thanks to goals from Brandon Doyle and Ryan Swan. Prior to that you have to go back to August 2015 for Portadown’s last victory over Warrenpoint, a 2-1 win at Shamrock Park thanks to goals from Gary Twigg and Keith O’Hara. In fact Warrenpoint have won the last six of the last seven meetings between the sides in all competitions with the men from Shamrock Park still waiting to pick up their first ever competitive victory at Milltown.

Portadown manager Matthew Tipton and his assistant David Miskelly are of course no strangers to Warrenpoint Town after guiding them to Championship success and promotion in 2017 during a 15 month spell in charge before departing for Shamrock Park in February 2018, and Portadown’s connection with Warrenpoint doesn’t stop with the management team as Ports players Conall McGrandles, Ruairi Croskery & Stephen Murray have also all been on the books of the Milltown club.

Portadown manager Matthew Tipton spoke to the Portadown media team ahead of tomorrows game and had the following to say:

We look forward to going to Warrenpoint tomorrow hoping to continue our recent run of good form & getting more points on the board before the split starts.

We obviously have the 3 long term injuries but with regards to knocks & niggles we seem to have very little at the minute.

We have really tailored back the training over the last few weeks to let the recovery process take effect so we can be as fresh as possible for this last period of season.

The officials are – Referee – Keith Kennedy / Assistant 1 – Stephen Donaldson  / Assistant 2 – Adam Jeffrey / 4th official – Christopher Morrison
