Portadown Football Club is pleased to announce that midfielder Barney McKeown has signed a new 1 year deal to remain at Shamrock Park.
Barney, 20, signed back with Portadown having spent time with Portadown Youth. He left PFC Youth to join Everton’s Academy in 2017 where he spent 2 years before returning home and joining Newry City AFC. Barney returned to Shamrock Park in the summer of 2020 and made 25 appearances in both the Danske Bank Premiership and Sadler’s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup scoring one goal away to Dungannon Swifts in a 3-0 win on 8th December 2020.

Really pleased that Barney has agreed to stay with us for another year. We only got to see Barney in fits & starts last year due to a few niggly injuries but we are now hopeful that with him being on our program over the summer he’ll be ready for pre season to get an unbroken run of sessions under his belt.
