Portadown Football Club have taken the decision, amid the ongoing uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, to not sell Season Tickets for the 2021/22 campaign.

Like last season, this has not been an easy decision for the club and is one the board have again discussed at length after taking a number of factors into account. These factors have included the lack of clarity at this time regarding capacity at sporting events in Northern Ireland as well as what restrictions, if any, will be in place when the Danske Bank Premiership kicks off in just three weeks time, the scenario has also been considered whereby if sporting events were to revert back to the restrictions that were imposed last season. We are currently in discussions with ABC Council at present regarding numbers and arrangements however due to the instances and scenarios referred to earlier it was felt the ‘Early Bird Scheme’ rather than issuing season tickets would be the best way to financially protect supporters and the club.

All this means is that we will continue, like last season, to sell individual match tickets for every Premiership fixture at Shamrock Park on a weekly basis via our online ticketing portal with the Early Bird Scheme in operation.

The ‘Early Bird Scheme’ will cost new members a one off payment of £10 for the season to cover administration and set up costs. Those members who joined the Early Bird Scheme last season will not need to pay £10 to rejoin, the one off £10 payment will only apply to new members of the scheme who did not sign up last season. Please note that existing members will only be allowed to purchase a membership for themselves under their registered e-mail address used last season, any abuse of the scheme will see that individuals membership cancelled.

The ‘Early Bird Scheme’ allows those supporters who join up to have a priority booking access period to one ticket for each Portadown game at Shamrock Park in advance of the general sale, again as stated above only one ticket per game is allowed to be purchased per membership and any abuse of this will also see that individuals membership cancelled. We feel this scheme is the best way to help ensure that Portadown supporters have priority access to tickets for games at Shamrock Park.

The scheme will operate with members receiving a e-mail link to purchase their ticket 3 days before the general sale, once the priority booking access period has expired then any tickets which have not been purchased by members will go on general sale.

Those supporters who signed up to the ‘Early Bird Scheme’ last season will get priority access to register again for this season and should receive an e-mail to their registered e-mail address within the next 24 hours on how to do this (please check your spam/junk/promotions folder if e-mail does not appear in your inbox) and will have up to 8pm on Wednesday 11 August 2021 to re-register.

After this date the ‘Early Bird Scheme’ will go on general sale with details of how to sign up being available on the official club website as well as our social media channels.

We appreciate that these circumstances aren’t perfect but, having considered all options and arrangements for the season ahead we believe the ‘Early Bird Scheme’ continues to be the best alternative to season tickets at this time.
