Portadown Football Club wish to inform supporters that our 2021/22 Early Bird Scheme will open to new members this evening (Wednesday 11 August) from 8pm.
The ‘Early Bird Scheme’ will cost new members a one off payment of £10 for the season to cover administration and set up costs and will allow those supporters who avail of the scheme to have a priority booking access period to purchase one ticket for each Portadown game at Shamrock Park in advance of the general sale. As previously stated we feel this scheme is the best way to help ensure that Portadown supporters have priority access to tickets for games at Shamrock Park during this period of reduced capacity, especially with big home games such as the Boxing Day derby this season.
The scheme will operate with members receiving a e-mail link to purchase their ticket 3 days before the general sale, once the priority booking access period has expired then any tickets which have not been purchased by members will go on general sale.
For those supporters availing of the Early Bird scheme a few important points to note include that multiple people can register under the same e-mail address for the scheme however must register individually and only those registered individuals will be eligible to use and purchase Early Bird tickets under their accounts. Also all supporters, regardless of age, who wish to avail of the Early Bird scheme must purchase and register and must do so individually. Once match day tickets are released to members for priority purchasing members can choose, depending on age, to buy a adult ticket or concession ticket. Please note that ID may be required on entry to confirm that the name of the person using the Early Bird ticket matches the name on said ticket and also that in the case of concession tickets that that member is eligible for a concession ticket, anyone found to be abusing the Early Bird Scheme will be removed from the scheme.
In relation to crowd capacity, the club after co-operation with local authorities, have received confirmation that we will be restricted to 950 home supporters (Brownstown Road Stand) & 450 away supporters (Chalet Road) for the coming season, starting with the big Danske Bank Premiership kick off against Glenavon on Friday 27th August. We will however continue to liaise with authorities with a view to increasing the capacity as current restrictions continue to lift.
While the increase to the allowed crowd attendance is welcomed it still means that we are in a state of restricted capacity and it’s because of this that we encourage as many Portadown supporters as possible to avail of our Early Bird Scheme so they do not miss out on supporting Matthew Tipton’s men from the stand at Shamrock Park this season.
