Portadown forward Harry Anderson has been called into the Northern Ireland u21 squad ahead of their Euro u21 Qualifiers against Malta (away – 3rd Sept) and Slovakia (home – 7th Sept). New u21 manager John Schofield names two new faces in his first squad since taking on the role on 1st August 2021 with Fleetwood Town’s Paddy Lane joining Anderson as the newcomers.
Anderson returned to Portadown in the summer after leaving Shamrock Park in 2019 to join Portsmouth, the young striker will be hoping to make an impression on his return and is well thought of by the coaching staff at the Ports.
Harry had the following to say on his call up:
“Really happy to be selected and looking forward to meeting up with the team and get started, also really excited to be playing with and against some top top players”
NI U21 Manager John Schofield told irishfa.com:
“This is my first full camp in the role and suffice to say, I can’t wait to get started. I’ll be linking back up with players I’ve worked with previously as well as getting to know new some faces and members of staff who’ll be joining up for the first time.
“Im looking forward to generating a close knit, family like environment for everyone involved both on, and off, the field.”
