Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signings of Jack Smith from Northern Amateur Football League side Derriaghy CC and Jamal Dupree from League of Ireland First Division side Waterford.

Smith, 24, was previously on the books of Crusaders and Carrick Rangers after spending his youth career coming through at Linfield’s academy and progressing to their U19 team.

2021/22 was the wingers first season at Derriaghy CC after a spell at Comber two years ago where after switching from midfield to the wing he had 29 goals in all competitions before the season was stopped due to covid.

Jamal Dupree, also 24 and like fellow new signing Jack Smith, came through at Linfield’s academy before taking up a football scholarship at San Jose in California.

Following a spell out of the game the midfielder joined Derriaghy CC before departing for full time football with Waterford in July 2021.

Ports manager Tipton said:

I must thank Owen Forsythe for the manner he helped us get Jack Smith over the line but also for putting in a good word with Jamal Dupree when he knew we were interested in him. Both will hopefully help us get the results that are needed.
