Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of former Coventry winger and Southampton youth product Billy Stedman.

The 22 year old from Portsmouth who can play on either flank or in an advanced midfield role was released by Southampton before signing for Coventry City at U16 level and signing his first professional contract at the Rioch Arena in 2018. He would feature and score regularly for the Sky Blues under-18s and under-23s going on to make his first-team debut against Arsenal U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy in 2018/19.

That was to be Stedman’s only senior appearance for Coventry City as he signed for Icelandic second division club UMF Víkingur Ólafsvík in 2020 where he went on to score once in 19 games as they finished ninth of twelve teams before returning home to sign for Southern League Premier Division South side Dorchester Town in November 2021 where he scored twice in eleven games.
