Portadown are back in Danske Bank Premiership action tomorrow (Sat 12 March) when we take on Ballymena United at Shamrock Park, kick off is 3pm and the game will be streamed live on We Are Ports TV LIVE via the Performa platform at a cost of £10.

Portadown come into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw with Carrick Rangers on Tuesday evening at the Loughshore Leisure Arena while Ballymena United were beaten 2-0 by 10 man Linfield at the Showgrounds.

The last time the two teams met was on New Years Day with Ballymena United running out 4-0 winners at the Showgrounds thanks to goals from David Parkhouse (2), Jude Winchester and Ross Redman while the previous meeting between the two clubs at Shamrock Park was in October 2021 with Ballymena United picking up the three points in a 1-0 victory with a Andy McGrory strike.

In fact Ballymena have won eleven of the last twelve meetings in all competitions between the two clubs with the Ports last victory over the Braidmen coming back in April 2016 when goals from Ken Oman and Matty Parker secured a 2-0 victory for the Ports at the Showgrounds in the last game of the 2015/16 campaign. The Ports last victory over the Braidmen at Shamrock Park came back in October 2015 when goals from Ken Oman, Sean Mackle and Peter McMahon sealed a 3-2 win.

Ports will welcome back Katlego Mashigo back to the squad after completing his 3 game ban following his sending off against Glenavon

Here’s what Portadown manager Paul Doolin had to say ahead of tomorrows game

We have to take Tuesdays game in context, with being two goals up of course we were disappointed however Carrick matched Linfield last Friday night and they (Linfield) found it tough in the second half too as Carrick bombarded them but Linfield had the experience to see it out while we’re still a very young team.

Barney (McKeown) is struggling and more than likely won’t play again this season while Sam Warde is also missing however Kat (Mashigo) and Paddy (McNally) are both in the squad and available.

It’s a home game and as always we look to our home games to pick up points.

The officials are – Referee – Keith Kennedy / Assistant 1 – Stephen Bell  / Assistant 2 – Stephen Donaldson / 4th official – Jamie Robinson

Online tickets for the game are available via https://tickets.portadownfc.co.uk/fixtures/ / A cash turnstile will also be available for both home & away supporters.

Tomorrows game will be live streamed by We Are Ports TV LIVE via https://performatv.com/game/portadown-vs-ballymena-united-12-03-22

While online tickets for matches still remain, a cash gate is now also available at each game at Shamrock Park (except in the event where a game has sold out online in advance of the game). We would add however that purchasing your ticket online remains the best way to guarantee your seat for games and would still actively encourage supporters to avail of the facility.
