Portadown FC can confirm this evening that two of the clubs most promising young players have signed Professional contracts with the club. Jack Ovens and Jake Willis have both made great progression over their times with the club and have been rewarded with their first professional contracts.
Head of Development, Peter Mullan, commented:
Jack and Jake have been fantastic players to work with as members of our Development Squad. They are very dedicated, hard working young players whose progress and performances have impressed the coaching staff.
Their character, application and desire to keep improving are great examples to all players throughout the club of the commitment required to progress at this level. This is an excellent opportunity for them to take the next step and I look forward to seeing them rise to the challenge once more.
Neil McCullough had the following to say about the two young defenders:
These two lads have worked so hard at their game from the minute they came to the club and the club felt they deserved the offer of a professional contract.
