Portadown are back in Danske Bank Premiership action this Friday evening (Fri 23 Sept) when we face Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park, kick off 7:45pm.
Both teams come into the game looking for their first Premiership points of the season, last time out Dungannon Swifts were beaten 1-0 by Newry City AFC at the Showgrounds while the Ports lost 1-0 to Larne at Shamrock Park.
The last time the two sides met was back in April 2022 with the game ending in a 0-0 stalemate at Shamrock Park, the last time the two sides met at Stangmore Park was in January 2022 with a 3-1 defeat for the Ports spelling the end of Matthew Tipton’s management tenure at the club.
Dungannon Swifts have been busy in the transfer marker over the summer bringing in former Glentoran trio Michael O’Connor, Darren Cole and Caolan Marron as well as Dean Curry, Mayowa Animasahun, Brendan Barr, John Scott and a familiar face to Ports fans in the form of Michael Ruddy.

Friday night is a big game no doubt, but they all are in this league. Both teams will be desperate to get points on the board but we need to concentrate on ourselves and do everything we possibly can to get a result.
Preparation has been good all week so it’s over to us to carry out a positive performance.
