Portadown Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Greg Moorhouse.

The 28 year old striker arrives at Shamrock Park after leaving Warrenpoint Town at the end of the 2021/22 campaign where he scored 5 goals in 37 apperances.

The Dublin native began his career with Leinster Senior League side Crumlin United, winning a Leinster Senior League Senior Sunday division in 2013/14, back to back FAI Intermediate Cups in 2014/15 and 2015/16 and being part of the Irish Amateur side that won the UEFA Regions Cup in Dublin in 2015 before departing for Glenavon in 2016 – scoring 15 goals in all competitions during 2016/17 for the Lurgan Blues.

After Glenavon and Coventry City failed to agree a deal for the striker after he impressed on trial at the Championship club in 2017 Moorhouse would join Sligo Rovers in July 2017 and make subsequent moves to Shelbourne in July 2018 and a return to Glenavon in December 2019 before being snapped up by Barry Gray for Warrenpoint Town in July 2021.

As a free agent after leaving Warrenpoint Town in the summer Greg is registered and available to make his Ports debut tomorrow evening against Carrick Rangers.

On the move to Shamrock Park Greg said

I’m really excited to get going at such a big club as Portadown and am looking forward to the challenge of helping the team climb up the table in the weeks and months ahead.

I’ve heard so many good things about the club over the past few days and feel we just need to get that first league victory of the season to help kick start things under the new manager and I hope that is something I can help contribute to at Carrick Rangers tomorrow evening.

While Greg Moorhouse arrives, departing the Ports is Jack Evans who arrived at Shamrock Park from Bourneview Mill in the summer – we thank Jack for his commitment and effort during his time at the club and wish him every success for the future.
