Pupils and teachers from Presentation Primary School in Thomas Street welcomed Portadown first team manager Niall Currie and striker Don De Dieu Tantale into their school to promote the upcoming Santa Hat Saturday.
Now into its sixth year, the annual Santa Hat Saturday will take place on Saturday 10th December before and during the NIFL Premiership match between Portadown and Ballymena United at Shamrock Park, which has a 3pm kick off.
The gates will open at 2pm with the local Salvation Army brass band playing carols for supporters entering the stadium.
All primary school children will be admitted to the match for FREE (no ticket necessary) and will receive a FREE santa hat on arrival. There will be FREE selection boxes and Tayto crisps for children and of course Santa Claus himself will be in attendance to have his photo taken with the children, before he leads the team out onto the pitch.
A burger van and tuck shop will be available and the clubrooms under the main stand will be open before and during the match. The club shop will also be open behind the main stand for any Christmas presents still needing purchased.
We look forward to welcoming lots of families to Shamrock Park on Saturday 10th December for our match against Ballymena United. We are delighted to give primary school aged children access to the match free of charge and thanks to our WE ARE PORTS charity and Tayto , we are also able to provide the children with the Santa hats and Christmas treats’.
A reminder that Block B at Shamrock Park is our Family and Community area, where we encourage supporters to
- Be aware of those around you
- Use appropriate language
- Be positive towards people on the pitch
We hope that everyone enjoys Santa Hat Saturday as always and we thank all of our supporters for the effort they put in following their team home and away during the season, especially during the winter months.
