The club is delighted to announce that Igor Rutkowski has signed his first professional contract with the club.

At 14, Igor joined Portadown FC Youth Academy from Armagh City and has went on to be a very focused and committed player who came to the club with a real hunger and desire to succeed.

He always wants to learn and improve, something that all his coaches have noted and been impressed by and has worked hard to progress through our National League sides to become an important and valued member of our NIFL Development Squad.  He is now producing consistently strong performances at U20s level and regularly scoring goals.

As a centre forward, Igor’s strength, hold-up play and eye for goal are key attributes that really do stand out.

Igor was part of the Portadown U18 team who won last seasons Mid-Ulster Youth Cup with the Pole scoring a hat-trick in the final, earlier this season he was also presented with the Golden Boot trophy after finishing joint top scorer of the Premier Section of this years SuperCupNI.

Igor, who made his first team debut back in October 2021, will spend the second half of this season on loan at Championship side Knockbreda with Ports boss Niall Currie adding

We have high hopes for Igor and have sat down with him and agreed on both sides he needs to get out now and play senior football.

He’s physically ready to go and Knockbreda have assured us he will play plenty of games with them, we expect Igor to return with the experience needed and ready to play for us next season.
