Portadown Football Club can confirm this evening that goalkeeper Ronan Burns and defender Jack Ovens have joined Championship side Annagh United and Premier Intermediate side Dollingstown, respectively, on loan for the remainder of the season.
Burns, 17, signed professional terms with Portadown in 2022 with the Rathfriland native being at the club since he was 10 years old.
Ports boss Niall Currie spoke on Ronan making the loan move to Annagh United
We feel Ronan is now at the stage were he has to play senior football.
He has been excellent for our U20s but now is the time and with Ciaran (McGurgan) coming in we feel this loan move will benefit all parties.
Ovens, 17, signed professional terms with the club in May 2022 with Niall Currie commenting on his loan move by saying
Jack Ovens is another player who we have liked since we came in and moving to Dollingstown on loan will help him develop and progress him in the adult game.
We look forward to welcoming both back to Shamrock Park for pre season.
