Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of 19 year old defender Matthew Walker from Institute.
Matthew was with Coleraine youth before joining Derry City in 2019 and moving on to Championship side Institute in the summer of 2022.
The attacking full back has also represented Northern Ireland at U16 & U17 level and has 2 goals in 17 appearances for ‘Stute this season.
On the move to Shamrock Park Matthew stated
When the opportunity came around I was happy to grab it, it’s a great club to be at and I’m happy to be here.
I’m an attacking full back who wants to get forward and provide goals and assists but keen to do the basics and do what you expect from a defender in regards to being defensively solid .
