On Friday 27th of January we hosted Annaghmore Anchor Boys and their families for a night at Shamrock Park. They had a tour of the facilities, took part in the Portadown FC quiz sheet, played some games and had a penalty kick competition. The boys left with a free ticket for the match against Linfield and it was great to see some of them back at Shamrock Park the following afternoon.

On Saturday 28th of January for our match against Linfield, Ballyvea 2013s and their families travelled up from Kilkeel to be our guests for the day. They received a pre match tour, chatted with Niall Currie in the changing room before playing a half time match on the Shamrock Park pitch against Portadown 2013s. Portadown 2013s also received a pre match tour and were mascots for the big match, walking out with the team before kick off.

Approximately £250 was collected by the Portadown National League 2009s during the Linfield match and this money will go towards new bench jackets for the team.

It was an action-packed Saturday afternoon for our match against Glentoran on the 4th of February. Ellis Anderson was the matchday mascot as well as Phoebe, Violet and Margot Dunlop. The four mascots did a really great job leading the team out and the girls were celebrating their Dad, Jonny Dunlop’s, 40th birthday.

The bucket collection was for ‘Help For Little Heroes’ and the team of men who recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro were honoured on the pitch at half time with a round of applause by both sets of supporters. The group have collected the amazing total of over £280,000 for their chosen charities.

Club legend, Greg Davidson was also a visitor for the Glentoran match and took time to chat with everyone in the home stand as well as posing for photographs with anyone who asked.

We rounded off the day by hosting our club volunteers in the boardroom for pizza and drinks, where they were thanked by Mark Beattie for all of the brilliant work they do around the club.
