Portadown Football Club are delighted to announce that defender Paddy McNally has signed a new 1 year contract to remain at Shamrock Park.
The 28 year old joined the club in the summer of 2019 from Larne having previously had spells at Glasgow Celtic, Cliftonville, Glenavon, Ballymena United and Carrick Rangers and has made 75 appearances while scoring 4 goals during his time at Portadown.
Portadown manager Niall Currie had this to say on securing Paddy on a new deal:
I think it says it all that Paddy had other offers but showed a real desire to remain at the club as he felt a real responsibility, like the rest of us, to the situation we’re in.
Once we get a pre season with Paddy we feel he’ll be a real asset to us in the league next year and again full credit to him, he had better offers from other clubs and could also have went to a Premiership club but he chose to stay and fight it out with us and that is exactly the sort of attitude we’re going to need next season.
Paddy McNally, delighted at penning a new contract to remain at Shamrock Park, had the following to say on his new deal:
I’m over the moon to continue my stay with this great club who have took me in from day 1 and I’ll be forever grateful for that.
I’m very excited about the challenge next season to hopefully create some amazing memories for the great support that follow us consistently through the good and bad, their incredible to say the least.
