Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Caolin Coyle from Dungannon Swifts on a 1 year contract.
The 23 year old began his career at Magherafelt Sky Blues before making the move to Dungannon Swifts Youth in 2012 as a 12 year old with the right back progressing through to the senior squad and going on to make over 80 appearances since his first team debut at Stangmore Park in 2017.
Coyle, who spent a season on loan at Carrick Rangers under Niall Currie in 2018, has represented Northern Ireland at schoolboy level as well as at U16, U17 & U18 and is raring to get started at Shamrock Park
I’ve obviously been with Niall before at Carrick Rangers and really enjoyed my time, he’s a really good manager and his backroom staff were exceptional to me.
I was ready to jump on board as soon as he got in touch and very happy that it’s over the line – I’m here to give my best, work hard and do what I can for the team, I can’t wait for pre season.
I’d also like to thank everyone at Dungannon Swifts as well as all the managers and coaches I’ve worked under and I wish them the very best going forward.
On Caolin making the move to Shamrock Park, Ports boss Niall Currie added
We’re obviously delighted, Caolin was a teenager when we had him on loan at Carrick Rangers and we’ve always kept an eye out for his development and how things have been progressing for him.
He’s had an injury hit season at Dungannon Swifts but as a 19 year old at Carrick he was outstanding and we seen huge potential in him and thankfully he’s made the move, it’s a big wrench for him leaving Dungannon Swifts as he’s been there a long long time so I’m over the moon to get him to come here and believe in our project.
