Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Dale Montgomery on a 1 year deal with the option of a further year on expiration of his contract with Newry City AFC.
The 32 year old defender made the move to the Showgrounds from Loughgall in 2018 following spells with Dungannon Swifts and Armagh City.
The Armagh native adds versatility to Niall Currie’s squad by being able to cover a number of postions, he also adds leadership to the dressing room having wore the Newry City AFC captain’s armband on a number of occasions and brings Premiership experience.

Dale has been a player I’ve admired for a long time, he’s every managers dream in regards to his versatility as he can play right across our back line and also in the number six role in midfield.
He’s also been captain of Newry City AFC which always appeals to me because the more leaders we have in our changing room the better, he will be a fantastic acquisition for us and I’m delighted he chose to come to Portadown.
