Portadown manager Niall Currie has announced the team’s pre-season friendly schedule ahead of the 2023/24 Championship campaign which kicks off on Saturday 5th August 2023.

The Ports will kick off their preparations with two fixtures on Saturday 8 July 2023 with a Portadown XI facing Premiership opposition in Cliftonville at Solitude (kick off 2:30pm) while another Portadown XI will make the trip to Napier Park to take on amateur league side Dunmurry YM (kick off 3pm)

Saturday 15th July 2023 sees another two games for Niall Currie’s men with a Ports side travelling to the Bluebell to take on NIFL Premier Intermediate side Ballymacash Rangers (kick off 3pm) while another Portadown team will play newly promoted Rathfriland Rangers at Iveagh Park, Rathfriland (kick off 3pm).

Tuesday 18th July 2023 see’s Niall Currie split his squad again as we take on Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park (kick off 7:30pm) and also face Armagh City at Holm Park (kick off 7:30pm).

On Saturday 22 July 2023 we make the journey to the Showgrounds to face Premiership opposition once more in the form of Coleraine (kick off 3pm) before the squad splits again for games on Tuesday 25th July 2023 when we take on Ballymena United at Shamrock Park (kick off 7:30pm) with another squad travelling to New Grosvenor to take on NIFL Premier Intermediate side Lisburn Distilley (kick off 7:30pm)

We welcome Glentoran and their new manager Warren Feeney to Shamrock Park on Saturday 29th July 2023 (kick off 3pm) when the two sides will compete for the Richardson Memorial Cup before we close out our schedule on Tuesday 1st August 2023 with fixtures against Championship side Knockbreda at Breda Park in the annual Derek McKinley Memorial Cup (kick off 7:30pm) with a seperate Portadown XI travelling to Milltown to take on Warrenpoint Town (kick off 7:30pm)
