Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce Andy Murdock as the new manager of our U20s team.

Andy has been involved in coaching at all ages and abilities for the last 12 years and brings a high level of enthusiasm to Portadown with his love for the game and his passion to see others do well.

He has an exciting background which spans across four continents having coached in the USA, Ghana, Mexico, Russia and China as well as helping build an exciting youth academy at Warrenpoint Town with the Lisburn native currently working for the Irish FA as a ‘Let Them Play’ officer.

Andy has a Masters Degree in Sports Development and Coaching and has also done his UEFA A License but he has not stopped there, in the last year he has studied the game in Europe having done a Football Analysis Course in Lisbon and a Tactics Mentorship in Amsterdam with Football Coach Evolution.

He has also penned two novels entitled ‘What Happened To The Game I Loved?’ which was aimed at kids, parents and coaches to increase awareness in some of the issues in the game at grassroots level while his second, ‘The Safari Cup’ which is aimed at 6-10 year olds and deals with disappointment, friendship, and the importance of working together as a team.

Andy has a relentless attitude, never stops developing, never stops learning and we cannot wait for this attitude and enthusiasm to filter down to our players at Portadown FC.
