Portadown Manager Niall Currie has spoken this afternoon on the transfer of Reece Jordan to Cliftonville
Three weeks ago, Reece made it clear that he wished to move on from the club.
We were aware that he was subject to interest from a number of Premiership clubs and we spoke to him about this on a number of occasions. We wanted Reece to stay at Portadown FC, as we believe he is a young talent with a bright future.
In the summer we offered him an extension as he was in the final year of his contract but he turned this down, Reece made it clear that he would like to explore other opportunities and at that point we made the decision which was best for all parties.
Reece continued to conduct himself well in training and in games and we wish him every success in his future.
