Portadown are back in Playr-Fit Championship action tomorrow (Sat 28 October) when we face Knockbreda at Shamrock Park (Kick off 5:30pm).

Portadown come into the game off the back of a 5-2 win over H&W Welders last Saturday at Shamrock Park while Knockbreda knocked Ballymacash Rangers out of the County Antrim Shield on penalties midweek however in league matters they were beaten 3-1 by Dundela at Breda Park last time out.

So far this season Knockbreda have played 12 league games losing all 12 and currently sit 12th in the Playr-Fit Championship.

The last time the two clubs was this season, on 16 September, with Portadown picking up all 3 points in a 2-0 win at Breda Park thanks to goals from Ryan Mayse and Paul McElroy.

For the last meeting between then two clubs at Shamrock Park you’ve to go back to February 2020 with the Ports winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Adam Salley (2) & Lee Bonis (2)

We welcome Knockbreda and we have our 5.30pm kick off to look forward to, hopefully we can get more fans and generate that great atmosphere we did so many times last season.

I have told the boys we cannot underestimate this team as yes, they haven’t won a game yet, and that will change, but they are in the semi final of a senior cup in the County Antrim Shield with a couple of great wins.

Unfortunately it looks like we will be without Paul McElroy for a while which is another huge blow but as long as we concentrate on ourselves and make sure we’re right we will do great.
