Portadown are back in Playr-Fit Championship action this evening when we face Ballyclare Comrades at Shamrock Park, kick off 8pm.

Portadown come into the game off the back of a 2-1 win over Bangor in the Clearer Water Irish Cup 6th round on Saturday however in league matters it was a 1-1 draw with Dundela last time out. For Ballyclare Comarades it was a 3-2 victory in the Irish Cup over Premiership oppostition in the form of Dungannon Swifts on Saturday while in the Championship it was a 3-1 win over Ballinamallard United in their previous Championship fixture.

So far this season Ballyclare Comrades have played 26 Championship games, winning 13, drawing 4 and losing 9 and currently sit 6th in the Playr-Fit Championship.

The last time the two clubs met was back on 20 August with Ballyclare Comrades winning 2-1 at Dixon Park, Portadown had taken the lead through Ryan Mayse with only 3 minutes on the clock before goals from Gary Donnelly and Calvin McCurry gave the Comrades the 3 points.

Ballyclare Comrades last visit to Shamrock Park came back in February 2020 with the away team grabbing all 3 points in a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Adam Gray and Nathan O’Neill, this would be the last game at Shamrock Park before the pandemic struck and the 2019/20 Championship was cut short.
