Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Jay Riley.

The 19 year old right back began his career at Coleraine where he would become the youngest player to ever represent the Bannsiders when he appeared in a North-West Cup fixture against Moyola Park at the age of 14 in 2019. The talented full-back would put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract when he signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at the Coleraine Showgrounds in January 2022 before spending the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Institute.

Riley would make the move to Scotland to sign for Airdrie in December 2022 before joining Lowland League side Dalbeattie Star on loan in January 2023. The Coleraine native would depart Airdrie and sign for Lowland League side Gretna 2008 in the summer of 2023 and go on to make 12 appearances for them this season.

He will wear squad number 19 and is available for tomorrow afternoons Clearer Water Irish Cup tie against Bangor.
