This Friday night (26 April) promises to be an occasion to remember as Portadown will be presented with the NIFL Playr-Fit Championship trophy following their game against Institute at Shamrock Park (KO 7:45pm) – ahead of Friday we felt it would be prudent to provide some guidance and matchday pointers to supporters attending the game as we’re expecting a sell out crowd.

Turnstiles will be open from 5:30pm with an outside DJ on hand to start the party and the We Are Ports Family Fan Zone in operation on the training pitch at the Rectory end of the ground with free chocolate treats, free face painting and free inflatable activities. Food & drink vendors (hot food van and ice cream/coffee cart) will also be open and in operation from 5:30pm with the Ports Store open from appox 6pm.

No segregation will be in place – admission is £8 adult, £5 concession and £1 for primary school kids when accompanied by an adult. A cash gate will be available however we would strongly advise purchasing an online ticket as online tickets along with season tickets will secure your seat in Shamrock Park while pay at the gate will only be available for as long as room remains inside the stadium.

Allocation of seats will be on a first come first served basis with supporters initially directed to the Main Home Stand and once this stand is filled to capacity supporters will then be directed to the away stand at the Chalet End of the stadium – please note that while an online ticket will guarantee you entry it will not automatically mean you’ll be allocated a seat in the Main Home Stand, as referred to earlier in this article seating will be allocated on a first come first served basis regardless of method of admittance to the stadium.

With all of the above taken into consideration we would strongly urge supporters to arrive early to minimise any congestion at the turnstiles and the surrounding areas.

Online tickets can be purchased via the link below, we would stress that on your approach to the turnstiles to please have your online ticket ready to present to the ticketing steward on duty to again minimise congestion and waiting times.

Strictly no one will be allowed access via the players and officals entrance or in to the board room if not on the board room guest list and in possession of the relevant match day passes.

In relation to the trophy presentation which will take place after the game, the Northern Ireland Football League have stated that the presentation will not take place if any supporters are on the playing area.

As a club we don’t want the opportunity of a trophy lift in front of a capacity Shamrock Park to be taken away from our players, they want share this moment with you all – and for the trophy and medals to be presented to them in front of you, the supporters. We are therefore appealing for supporters to stay in their seats and enjoy the special moment together and thank you in advance for everyone’s cooperation with this.

We would add that Portadown FC wholly encourages the use of tifos, drums, club colours & flags and making plenty of noise to encourage our team, and as a club, we will and have helped with this is in whatever way we can but we also have to reitirate that bringing and using pyrotechnics or smoke bombs are banned from games under the ground regulations and the IFA Disciplinary code.

Live music will be on in Club91 following the conclusion of the game with players also on hand to meet and greet supporters and get photos taken.

Finally we would ask all supporters to please show patience and respect to the stewards and security staff on duty as well as heeding any instructions and directions they may give this evening as they try to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all in attendance.

Most important of all, enjoy the evening and occassion!
