Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce David McCullough as the new manager of our reserve team following David Marsden and Kirk Keery’s decision to step down from the role.

David, who called time on his Irish League career last month following 5 years with Dollingstown in the NIFL Premier Intermediate, is no stranger to Portadown supporters after making 103 apperances for the club over two spells (2007-2011 & 2017-2018) and being part of our 2008/09 Championship and League Cup winning teams.

The central midfielder can list Lisburn Distillery, Ards, Dungannon Swifts and Loughgall among his previous clubs in a stellar 17 year Irish League career.

We are also pleased to confirm that returning to the club as part of David’s backroom team are former players Scott McCordick and Bryan Pentland while Gordon Anderson will remain in his coaching role and completes the management set up ahead of the new NIFL Premiership Development League season in August.

We as a club are excited about this appointment as David along with Scott and Bryan have been there and done it as in regards to coming through the youth system and reserve side at the club to break into the first team squad and we anticipate that that experience and knowledge will benefit and motivate our current crop of youngsters to go on and achieve the same thing.

While we welcome David and his team we would also like to place on record our thanks and gratitude to the outgoing reserve management team of David Marsden and Kirk Keery and thank them for their contribution last season, we wish them every success as they look to prusue new challenges.
