Portadown Football Club is delighted to confirm that Lee Chapman has signed a new two year contract to remain at the club until 2026.

The 29 year old right back who has had spells at Glentoran, Lisburn Distillery, Carrick Rangers and Ballymena United arrived at Shamrock Park in January 2023 from Dundela & made 44 apperances last season for the Ports as Niall Currie’s side won the Playr-Fit Championship, Mid Ulster Cup & reached the final of the BetMcLean Cup.

The ever reliable full back who scooped no less than 6 individual awards at the Club’s End of Season dinner last weekend, including the Players Player of the Year award, has made a total of 61 appearances in a Portadown shirt.

On Chapman committing his future to the club, Niall Currie commented

I’m delighted to get Lee on board.

Obviously he’s been a player I have had for many years, but I have to say that since moving him to full back after being on the wing for most of his career has been a god send for all of us.

He’s had his most successful year and quite rightly been rewarded by our supporters, this is him now for many years ahead and he has loved being here so we’re delighted to have him secured.

Lee Chapman added

I’m delighted to extend my stay here for another 2 years.

From the first moment I arrived, the level of support and love from the fans and everyone at the club has been unbelievable.

I’m so appreciative of this and it really helped push us on last season. I’m already looking forward to the new season and can’t wait to get back to playing in the Premiership, where this club belongs.
