Portadown Football Club can confirm that Joe Williamson has departed the club to join Premier Intermediate side, Dollingstown.

The 19 year old made his first team debut for Portadown in September 2021 after coming through the youth system at the club and would go on to make 8 senior apperances.

Joe, son of Trevor who won two Irish League titles with the Ports in 1990 & 1991, would also pick up the club’s 2023/24 Young Player of the Year at the recent End of Season Dinner as well as the Reserves top scorer accolade.

Joe has also played an important role in the club’s community initiatives over the past few years in regards to school visits & coaching and has been a first class ambassador for PFC as he struck up a great rapport with the kids.

On Joe moving on from Shamrock Park, Niall Currie commented

We wish Joe the very best as he moves on, Joe is a fantastic young man and he recognises the need to go out to play first team football and get minutes under his belt to help his progression.

He departs with our best wishes and full support we hope to see him return to Shamrock Park in the future.

Everyone at Portadown Football Club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Joe for his commitment and contribution to the club and wish him every success for the future.
