Portadown Football Club is delighted to confirm that Ryan Mayse has signed a new one year contract to remain at the club until the summer of 2025.

The 30 year old forward who has had spells at Dergview, Ballinamallard United and Ballymena United before making the move to Portadown at the conclusion of his contract at Dungannon Swifts in June 2024 made 48 appearances and scored 23 goals last season for the Ports as he played his part in Niall Currie’s side winning the Playr-Fit Championship, the Mid-Ulster Cup & reaching the final of the BetMcLean Cup.

The Newtownstewart man was named in the 2023/24 Championship Team of the Year as well as picking up Richhill Reds Supporters Club Player of the Year.

On signing on at Shamrock for another year, Ryan commented

I’m delighted to have signed an extension and back playing in the Premiership where this club belongs, hopefully we can kick on now from last year.

Ports boss Niall Currie added

It’s great having the wee man on board again, he’s not shy in telling me the contribution he made for us last year so it’s great he’s staying at Shamrock Park.

He’s hitting his prime now and his quality is there for everyone to see, he’s a special character too and all teams need that.
