The Ports are back in Sports Direct Premiership action this Saturday (7th December) as we make the journey to face Coleraine at the Coleraine Showgrounds at 5pm.

Portadown come off the back of a narrow defeat away to top of the league Linfield, while Coleraine are coming into the game following a dramatic 3-3 draw away to Glenavon.

Last time out between the 2 sides came on the 17th August at Shamrock Park with Coleraine coming out of the blocks early taking the lead after 9 minutes when a close range strike from Rhyss Capmbell found the back of the Portadown net. It would be a close encounter until the 69th minute when Matthew Shevlin slotted home from the penalty spot to give Coleraine a 2 goal lead. 6 minutes later a threaded ball through the Coleraine defence from Eamon Fyfe found the on running Ryan Mayse who calmly slotted past Rory Brown in the Coleraine goal. ‘The Ports’ threatened the Coleraine defence until the death when a last gasp Ben Wylie cross was turned into the net by Portadown defender Dougie Wilson to make the  game level with the last kick of the game.

It’s almost a decade since the Ports won at the Showgrounds against Coleraine, a Mark McAllister header on New Years Day in 2015 in a 1-0 win being the last time Ports came away with the 3 points.
