Portadown Football Club can confirm that Zach Cowan and Jay Riley have both agreed contract extensions that see them commit their future to the club until the summer of 2026 ahead of agreeing loan deals to join Banbridge Town and Ballyclare Comrades respectively for the rest of the season.
On the teenagers loan moves, Portadown manager Niall Currie commented
Zach leaves to get regular first team football to aid his development. Zach went on loan to Dollingstown last season but unfortunately was injured early during his loan. He returned to us and regained full fitness. He has featured this year and will return to the club at the beginning of the season.
Jay Riley has joined Ballyclare Comrades on loan he has had some senior appearances this season and has shown good development, we believe it is best for Jay to get regular first team football and return next season to challenge for a regular starting spot.
