Portadown Football Club is delighted to confirm the arrival of Divin Isamala on loan from League of Ireland Premier Division side Bohemians for the remainder of the season.
The central defender began his career with Leinster Senior League side St Francis at the age of 14, being promoted to their senior team at 19 before signing for Bohemians in February 2024. The 21 year spent the second half of the 2024/25 League of Ireland season with First Division side Wexford, playing 13 times as he helped them to a third place finish.
The 6 footer from Dublin was involved with the FAI’s Amateur training camp in February 2023 and was heavily linked to a move to full time football in England prior to making the move to Bohemians, most notably to Blackpool following trials having impressed then manager Mick McCarthy.
On making the move to Shamrock Park, Divin commented
I’m excited to be joining Portadown on loan and I can’t wait to get started.
Niall told me all about the size of the club and the wonderful support, the team are doing very well in the league and I hope to come in and help them push even further between now and the end of the season.
Ports manager Niall Currie added
Firstly I would like to thank Pat Fenlon and Bohemians for helping us get Divin to our club for the rest of the season, it comes at a crucial period.
Divin has been on our radar for quite a while, indeed we tried to get him at the start of the season, he’s got a great future ahead of him and we’re delighted we are going to play a part in that.
