Portadown Football Club is pleased to announce that 17-year-old Damian Traczykowski has signed a professional contract with the club, the first professional football contract of his career.
The young midfielder broke into the first squad this season and made his senior debut as a substitute against Carrick Rangers earlier this month.
Damian is currently with the NIFL Scholarship Select team competing in the Dallas Cup, the most prestigious youth football tournament in the United States.
Portadown manager, Niall Currie spoke on his delight at handing Damian his first professional contract
We’re delighted to give young Damian his first professional contract, he has been training with us regularly and has looked completely comfortable.
We believe he has a real chance with the attributes he has and we want to show all young players that the pathway to our first team is there for them.
Portadown Reserves manager David McCullough added
I’m absolutely delighted for Damian to have signed his first professional contract. He joined us at the start of the season and has continued to progress throughout the year, being an ever present for the reserves, playing 30 times so far.
Damian has been superb and the contract is nothing more than he deserves, I have no doubt he can go on to have a long and superb career with Portadown.
