Portadown Football Club is pleased to announce that Baris Altintop has signed a new 1 year deal to remain at Shamrock Park until the summer of 2026.
Baris, 24, arrived on loan from Larne in August 2024 before making the move permanent in January 2025 and has went on to make 30 appearances for Niall Currie’s side in the centre of the Ports defence.
On his new deal, Baris commented
I’m happy to have extended my stay at Portadown. A club that has ambition, ran the right way by good people and with an excellent support.
I’m already looking forward to the new season as I feel we can come back better and strive for more.
After speaking to the the vice chairman, Paul Jackson & the staff they all have ambitions and with being a winner I want to help the team achieve that.
I’m looking forward to pulling on the Ports shirt next season again and playing in front of our fans.
Ports manager Niall Currie added
A huge thank you to our board, Baris had many options for next season but thankfully he sees his future with us.
He’s been a wonderful signing since he arrived and his partnership with Lewis (MacKinnon) was a huge part of our base to keep clean sheets. Baris is a great lad and natural leader so we’re delighted.
Our aim was always to protect our assets and now we have the majority committed for next season. We want to progress, and keeping our top players gives us that platform that’s going to be needed as next season will be even harder.
