Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Alex Moore, who will officially join the club following the expiration of his contract with Ards.
Moore (26) made his Premiership debut in the cauldron of a ‘Belfast Big Two’ derby at the age of 18 for Linfield when he was drafted in for the injured Roy Carroll, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win in 2017. In total Alex would make 8 competitive appearances between the sticks for the Blues between 2017 and 2020.
The shot stopper would have two separate loan spells at Dungannon Swifts during his time at Linfield, spending the 2018/19 and the 2021/22 campaigns at Stangmore Park before exiting Windsor Park permanently in the summer of 2022 to join Ards where he would go on to make 90 appearances over the next three seasons.
On making the move to Shamrock Park, Alex commented
I’m delighted to sign for Portadown, it’s a massive club with a huge support and fan base. It is clear that the club is moving in the right direction and this is something that I am excited to be a part of.
I’m looking forward to meeting up with the lads in pre season and competing for my place in the team and hope that we can improve upon what was already an impressive season last year.
