Portadown are back on their travels tomorrow afternoon (19th December) when we travel to Stangmore Park to take on Dungannon Swifts in the Sports Direct Premiership, kick off 3pm.

The last time the two sides met was back in August with the Ports coming from Dungannon with a thumping 4-1 win thanks to goals from Josk Ukek, Eamon Fyfe and a brace from Jordan Gibson, Rodney McAree’s men ended the game with 9 men after having Gael Bigirimana and Leo Alves sent off – a first win at Stangmore Park for the Ports since March 2021.

Dungannon Swifts have reversed their early season troubles and have now only lost 3 out of their last 12 league fixtures to find themselves 6th in the Sports Direct Premiership, only 3 points behind the Ports but with a game in hand on their Mid-Ulster neighbours.

Portadown come into the game off the back of 2 wins and 2 clean sheets and are on their best run of form of the season with 10 points from their last 5 Premiership fixtures, a run that has seen them climb to 7th in the table.

Dungannon Swifts have the upper hand against the Ports at Stangmore Park, winning 6 of the last 7.

On the game Ports boss, Niall Currie commented

Unfortunately we will miss our skipper on Saturday due to suspension while Baris (Altintop) has been playing through a groin problem so may struggle to make it but on a more positive note we have Luke Wilson available again.

We go to a very difficult venue with the squad in great spirits and great momentum, we will do everything to try to keep that feel good factor going knowing if we can get to our levels, we always have a great chance.
