We are delighted to announce that James Teelan has penned a new deal to extend his stay at Portadown Football Club.
The 23 year old winger returned to Shamrock Park in January 2025 following his release from Crusaders after initially beginning his career at Portadown where he came through our under 18 and reserve set ups before making his senior debut for the club in a Mid-Ulster Cup tie against Annagh United in September 2019 under Matthew Tipton.
James has been in scintillating form this season with 4 goals in 24 appearances including match winners in the victories over Cliftonville, Linfield and Ballymena United and a particular stand out individual display against Crusaders at Seaview.
After putting pen to paper James explained how much he’s enjoying life at Portadown and under Niall Currie:
I’m delighted to sign a new deal at the club as I’ve enjoyed every bit of it since returned almost a year ago.
I feel Niall is the best manager to get the most out of me, so hopefully I can continue improving.

We’re over the moon that James has committed his future to the club, he’s a top boy who is only going to get better and better.
He has been a big player for us from the start of the season and I firmly believe the sky is the limit for James as he enters the best years of his career with top tier Premiership experience under his belt and I couldn’t be happier that that will be in the red of Portadown.
