Portadown are back in Sports Direct Premiership action for the first time in 2026 tomorrow afternoon when we host Cliftonville at Shamrock Park, kick off 3pm.
Portadown come into the game off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Glentoran on Tuesday evening at the Oval while Cliftonville held league leaders Larne to a scoreless draw at Inver Park.
Portadown and Cliftonville have met twice so far this season with Niall Currie’s side winning 2-1 at Solitude back in September thanks to goals from Eamon Fyfe and James Teelan, while Cliftonville picked up a 3-2 win at Shamrock Park in November.
Cliftonville come to Shamrock Park as a team in form, with only 1 defeat in their last 10 Premiership games and keeping 5 clean sheets along the way. Away from Solitude this season however they’ve struggled to pick up maximum points, only collecting 3 wins from 9 away games with defeats at Bangor, Linfield, Dungannon Swifts and Crusaders. On the road the only sides Jim Magilton’s men have come away with the 3 points from are ourselves in November and two victories at Taylors Avenue against Carrick Rangers.
Portadown have a good recent record against Cliftonville, winning two of the last three home meetings.

We still have Baris missing through suspension unfortunately but Luke came in and I thought was super against Glentoran.
We know Cliftonville are on a great run but as always we focus on being at our best, and if we are we always have a chance in all games.
