Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Adhamh Towe from Loughgall.
The 20 year old midfielder joined Loughgall from Dungannon Swifts, where he’d been captain of the Swifts second string, in January 2024 and went on to make 59 appearances during his two year spell at Lakeview Park.
Towe, who can play full back or in the middle of the park, began his career at Glenavon within their Under 16 Academy League squad before making the switch to Stangmore Park in October 2021 and being part of the Swifts reserve team that lifted the Harry Cavan Youth Cup in 2022 before going on to make his senior Dungannon Swifts debut in April 2023.
On adding Adhamh to his squad, Portadown manager Niall Currie commented
We’ve been watching Adhamh for a considerable amount of time, for a young lad to accumulate the amount of appearances he has at such a great level is outstanding.
We know he’s had quite a few suitors over the last six months but we enquired about him early and in the January window with the initial thought being it would be a deal for next season but thankfully an agreement has been made between the two clubs for Adhamah to join Portadown straight away, which we’re delighted with.
We see them as a player with a wonderful future, with everything going for him and everything ahead of him. We know how important it is for him to kick on and we feel this platform will be wonderful for both player and club.
On making the switch to the Ports, Adhamh added
I’m delighted to sign for Portadown and am ready to work hard and give everything for the fans my family and the club.
Being a local lad made the decision easy to sign for such a historic and massive club, I hope that now I can push on and help the team move further up the table and get some big results.
Adhamh will wear the number 28 shirt.
