Portadown are back at Shamrock Park tomorrow afternoon when they take on Larne in the Sports Direct Premiership, kick off 3pm.
Larne come into the game sitting top of the Premiership, are unbeaten in their last 18 league games and drew 2-2 with Glentoran last Tuesday evening at Inver Park. On the opposite side of the scale Portadown have lost their last 4 Premiership games, their longest losing run since returning to the Premiership in 2024/25, and had a gut wrenching 2-1 defeat to Coleraine last time out with the Bannsiders scoring their winner 20 seconds from the final whistle after Josh Ukek had given Portadown a first half lead.
The two clubs have met twice so far this season, both at Inver Park, with Larne winning 4-0 in August and 3-0 in November. Some comfort for Niall Currie’s men however is that the Ports won both meetings between the clubs at Shamrock Park last season, 2-1 in October 2024 and 2-1 in February 2025.
Larne are unbeaten in their last nine away league games and since the start of the 2023/24 season have lost only seven of their last 51 away league games – 2 of those 7 defeats being to the Ports.
Portadown will be without the suspended Lewis MacKinnon while Larne defender Matt Ridley will also be missing after picking up his 5th booking of the season in Tuesdays draw with Glentoran.

We’re on the back of two very good performances, unfortunately however we haven’t got the rewards we deserved.
I can’t speak highly enough of my players if I’m honest, Tuesdays performance against such a top level full time team was outstanding and we were all gutted but I’ve spoke to the players and emphasised the resilience we are going to have to have on the back of some games this season.
We have to go again against the league leaders who have shown unbelievable consistency, we know we’re not expected to get anything but this is football and we know we need to be at our absolute best to have a chance and we will give our all.
