Portadown return to Sports Direct Premiership action at Shamrock Park tomorrow evening when Dungannon Swifts are the visitors, kick off 5:30pm.
Portadown’s game on Tuesday evening against Cliftonville fell victim to floodlight failure in the 41st minute meaning the Ports come into this game off the back of a 2-1 win over Larne last time out while Dungannon Swifts were beaten 4-1 by Linfield at Stangmore Park midweek.
Portadown and Dungannon Swifts have met twice this season in Premiership matters with a win a piece for either side, the Ports winning 4-1 in August while the Swifts picked up the three points in December with a 4-2 win, both games taking place at Stangmore Park. Of course Rodney McAree’s men knocked the Ports out of the Irish Cup at Shamrock Park a fortnight ago in a tightly contested tie, the Swifts winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Sean McAllister and Andy Mitchell after Shay McCartan had given the Ports the lead after only 4 minutes.
