Portadown are back in Sports Direct Premiership action at Shamrock Park this evening for our rearranged game against Cliftonville, kick off 7:45pm.
The original fixture was first of all postponed because of the weather back in January while the rearranged game on 17 February was abandoned after 41 minutes due to floodlight failure with Cliftonville 1-0 up and having a penalty saved, so it’s hopefully a case of third time lucky tonight.
Portadown come into the game off the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Glenavon on Saturday while Cliftonville were 2-0 winners against Linfield at Solitude.
Portadown and Cliftonville have met twice so far this season with Niall Currie’s side winning 2-1 at Solitude back in September thanks to goals from Eamon Fyfe and James Teelan, while Cliftonville picked up a 3-2 win at Shamrock Park in November.
Cliftonville come to Shamrock Park with only 5 league wins in their last 13 fixtures dating back to early December. Away from Solitude this season they’ve especially struggled to pick up maximum points, only collecting 3 wins from 12 away games with defeats at Bangor, Linfield, Dungannon Swifts (2), Crusaders and Glenavon. On the road the only sides Jim Magilton’s men have come away with the 3 points from are ourselves in November and two victories at Taylors Avenue against Carrick Rangers.
Please note that as the vast majority of supporters availed of the cash gate in operation at the game on 17 February, we are unable to fully track those who paid into Shamrock Park. Therefore, we will have an “honesty box” process in place and ask anyone who hasn’t paid for the previous match to please make payment, supporters are also welcome to make a donation to help cover the costs of replaying the match.
Of course, Portadown 2025/26 season tickets are valid for the game, as are any online tickets which were purchased for either of the scheduled games between Portadown and Cliftonville at Shamrock Park on the 17th February 2026 or on 3rd January 2026.
Portadown will be without the suspended duo of Luke Wilson, who was sent off in Saturdays Mid-Ulster derby defeat while Shay McCartan misses out after collecting his fifth caution of the season in the same game.
