Portadown welcome Crusaders to Shamrock Park tomorrow afternoon in the Sports Direct Premiership, kick off 3pm.
The Ports come into the game off the back of a 3-1 defeat to Linfield at Windsor Park Tuesday week ago while Crusaders dropped to the foot of the Premiership following a 3-0 defeat to Glenavon at Seaview on Saturday.
Portadown and Crusaders have met twice so far this season, the Ports winning 2-1 at Shamrock Park in August thanks to goals from Rhys Annett and Eamon Fyfe, and also took the 3 points from a visit to Seaview in December by way of a 4-0 win with strikes from Eamon Fyfe, Ben Quinn and a brace from Ben Wylie.
Crusaders are on a wretched run of form which has seen Glenavon overtake them in the Premiership relegation battle, they’ve only one league win in 2026 (a 2-0 win over Dungannon Swifts on 3 January), are nine Premiership games without a win and have only picked up 4 points since the turn of the year. They’ve also conceded 3 or more goals in 5 of their last 9 Premiership games, including conceding 5 to Glentoran, Cliftonville and Coleraine, and have conceded 17 goals in their last 4 away Premiership games.
Portadown have won 5 of the last six meetings between the clubs in all competitions and are unbeaten on home soil in their last 4 against the Crues, however Declan Caddell’s side can boast that they’ve only lost twice on their last ten league visits to Shamrock.
Portadown will be without the suspended duo of Shay McCartan and Steven McCullough however Luke Wilson returns to the squad after completing his 3 match ban following his red card against Glenavon. Crusaders will be without the suspended Kurtis Forsythe and Jordan Forsythe.
